'Home Again Jamaica'
Prefab Housing Relief Program
Mission To rebuild permanent, hurricane-resistant homes for Jamaican landowners who lost their houses in Hurricane Melissa — through a transparent, community-driven prefab housing program.
Vision A Jamaica where every displaced landowner can return to their land, rebuild stronger than before, and restore dignity, stability, and independence.
The Problem
Right now, the nation’s focus is on emergency relief — restoring access, supplying food and water, and ensuring people’s safety. This work is essential and must continue.
But soon, the focus will shift to rebuilding lives, especially for families who own land but no longer have a home to return to.
The Solution
Home Again Jamaica is a housing initiative helping landowning families rebuild by funding and delivering prefabricated homes valued at USD $30,000 each.
We are starting with a realistic, achievable goal. One home at a time — while building the partnerships, systems, and volunteer network needed to scale and reach more families across Jamaica.
Each home includes: • Site cleanup and foundation • Prefabricated, hurricane-resistant home • Transport, delivery, and installation • Basic utility connections where possible • Full handover to the family
Funds raised will go directly toward construction, materials, logistics, and the administrative support needed to make each home possible in a transparent and structured way.
Beneficiary Eligibility (Landowners Only)
Must own land (title, family land affidavit, parish council / JP verification)
Must have lost primary home due to Hurricane Melissa
Must be rebuilding on their land—not renting, squatting, or relocating
Process Flow
Donations collected into Home Again Jamaica Fund
Landowner applies online or at local help center
Verification of land ownership + property damage (documents, photos, GPS, community/official confirmation)
When $30,000 is allocated to that family → site cleanup + foundation begins
Prefab home delivered and installed on their land
Keys handed over to family; donors receive proof of impact (photo/video/report)
Next Steps
Confirm prefab housing suppliers and installation partners
Build the donation and application platform to receive and manage support
Launch a pilot phase to complete the first 10 homes in the most affected parishes
Find ways to reduce the cost per home through bulk purchasing, local manufacturing, donations of materials, or strategic partnerships
Scale the initiative to additional families and communities as funding and capacity grow
We’re not waiting for recovery to happen. We’re preparing now. This initiative isn’t a replacement for government or NGO programs. It’s our way of being proactive, collaborative, and ready to support long-term recovery.
